We head into the second half of the session with broad market weakness on our hands. The broad market indices are all down at least one percent. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) is the weakest with a loss of 180 points.

A look to the overall picture shows action somewhat reminiscent to the line-in-the-sand break between commodity corner and the rest of the market. The Amex Gold Bugs Index (HUI) is the strongest area as it recoups most of Friday's loss. Given the optimism on gold stock, I am curious to see whether the group can spur a bounce.

On the downside we have weakness in the SPDR Homebuilders (XHB), Regional Bank HOLDRS (RKH), Broker/Dealer Index (XBD), and CBOE Internet Index (INX).
