Here are some of the contenders for today's biggest...news...of...the...day...

  • A WiMax venture involving Clearwire (CLWR) and Sprint Nextel (S)...
  • Earnings from Cisco Systems Inc (CSCO)...
  • Earnings from Walt Disney Co (DIS)...
  • Word that Countrywide Financial Corp (CFC) admitted "that it has made errors and pledged to take steps to improve its operations..."
  • Optimism on electronics retailers as Standard & Poor's believes the group could benefit from tax rebate checks...Best Buy (BBY), GameStop (GME), RadioShack (RSH), and Circuit City (CC) are mentioned with BBY singled out as the top pick...
  • A look into the "ignorance about recessions..."

While those are all stories worth watching, I think it is obviously clear that the biggest story is this -

So...we have one group of scientists injecting fat into mice and arguing bigger bottoms are better while another group is genetically engineering the brains of mice to make them skinny. Both are saying this could have health benefits. Does this mean some future doctor visit is going to involve some sort of crazy liposuction procedure that "moves" my gut to my bottom?
