Here are some of the contenders for today's biggest...news...of...the...day...

  • Buzz about the new touchscreen phone from Research in Motion (RIMM)...
  • Word that a fraud lawsuit against Countrywide Financial Corporation (CFC) is moving foward...
  • The acquisition of CNET Networks, Inc. (CNET) by CBS (CBS)...
  • The acquisition of Plaxo by Comcast (CMCSA)...
  • The move by General Electric Co. (GE) to "auction off its appliances business..."
  • Continued controversy about policy changes at eBay (EBAY)...
  • A lowered outlook from Ctrip.com International, Ltd. (CTRP)...
  • Earnings from Brocade Communications Systems, Inc. (BRCD)...
  • The move by Carl Icahn to "to seek control of Yahoo! Inc.'s (YHOO) board if the Internet company fails to reopen takeover talks with Microsoft Corp (MSFT)..."
  • An article that notes that Petroleo Brasileiro SA (PBR) has "leased about 80 percent of the world's deepest-drilling offshore rigs..."

While those are all stories worth watching, I think it is obviously clear that the biggest story is this - Solar bra brings conservation closer to the heart. According to the article, a company in Japan has created "a solar-powered bra that can generate enough electric energy to charge a mobile phone or an iPod..." It is said this "does send the message of how lingerie could possibly save the planet..."

While this does seem like the environmentally correct thing to do, the article does note one of the major flaws...

"The panel requires light to generate electricity and...'people usually can not go outside without wearing clothes over it'..."
As they say, the devil is the details...
