Here are some of the contenders for today's biggest...news...of...the...day...

  • Weakness in overseas markets...
  • The acquisition of ImClone Systems Inc (IMCL) by Eli Lilly & Co. (LLY) for $70 a share...
  • Job cuts at eBay Inc (EBAY) "as sales growth slows and competition intensifies..."
  • A move by the Fed to inject more liquidity...
  • Upbeat comments on International Business Machines Corp (IBM)...
  • An updated outlook from Netflix Inc. (NFLX)...
  • A new version of the Kindle reader from Amazon.com Inc (AMNZ)...
  • An investigation into trading of Apple Inc (AAPL) shares related to the false rumors that Steve Jobs had a heart attack...

While those are all stories worth watching, I think it is obviously clear that the biggest news is this set of stories -

So...Friday we saw that Wall Street woes have become Playboy fodder and today we see chocolates and a cat are joining the "its-all-fun" fray. Meanwhile, the boars are amassing an army overseas. Everyone mocks the idea of an animal uprising but the evidence keeps growing...
